SUBJECTS TAUGHT:
Music, Law (degree level); English, Maths and Sciences (GCSE and below);
Oxbridge entrance; 11+ entrance exam preparation.
TUTORING & TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
My name’s Theo, I am a Music graduate from the University of Cambridge (2022), with a further Graduate Diploma in Law from City, University of London (2025). A scholar at my Cambridge college, I have enjoyed honing my essay-writing skills throughout higher education, receiving one of the highest marks in the year (87%) for my Public law coursework. I would be invested in helping prospective students with essay competitions, if so requested.
After university, working with the Alsama Project (an education NGO), I founded a music school in the Shatila refugee camp, delivering 20 lessons to over 300 refugee students (aged 9 to 18) each week. Successful delivery of the curriculum required me to tailor content around the interests and experiences of my students. As a tutor, I am similarly committed to finding ways of learning that work specifically for the individual. For the past 4 years I have also given private tuition (online and in-person) in GCSE Maths, English and Science. I am interested in SEN-oriented methods of learning (gamification, scaffolding), and have prior experience tutoring students with limited English language skills.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
City St George’s, University of London (2024-2025) – Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL)
University of Cambridge, Sidney Sussex College (2019-2022) – BA (Hons) in Music.
EXTRA-ACADEMIC INTERESTS:
I am an avid classical singer, having sung with the choir of King’s College, Cambridge (you may have seen me on TV!): on weekends, I may be found “depping” in churches across central London. I am also a keen racket sports player, having represented my county for tennis as a teenager. I am an enthusiastic yet (much to my frustration) unremarkable chess player, having learnt with an international Master in Beirut.
