TUTORING & TEACHING EXPERIENCE:
I am a Teacher of English at Wycombe Abbey and spent my last academic year as an English Beak at Eton College. I have been teaching since 2008 and have also undertaken year-long stints in an international school in China and a state primary in Thailand. I have taught at Wellington College and Cheltenham Ladies’ College.
I teach all secondary year groups and have written and marked entrance exams for some of the most prestigious schools in the country. I have extensive experience too of interviewing prospective candidates and can offer advice on approaching entrance papers and interviews.
Pastorally, I have been a form tutor for my whole teaching career, and have had regular boarding duties in my schools, including several resident summer schools. I am driven by the belief that a happy student is a good learner, and that as teachers we should strive for the perfect level of challenge and support to achieve “flow”.

EXTRA-ACADEMIC INTERESTS:
I am a voracious reader and being an English teacher often feels like cheating- I get to talk about books to a captive audience!
In my spare time I walk my Welsh Collie, Arwen, around the Chilterns. I also knit and crochet, and write poetry which has started to win small competitions. I am a member of the High Wycombe Rifle Club and have been shooting small-bore rifles for about seven years.
